For Longhorns football, the 1977 season is one to remember. Texas finished the regular season undefeated, led by Heisman Trophy winner Earl Campbell and his amazing 1,744-yard season. The team won the Southwest Conference handily, and were selected co-National Champions by the Rothman (FACT) system (one of Texas' five unclaimed titles to this point).
